The Indian investor trader and a partner in his investment business firm, Rare Enterprises Rakesh Jhunjhunwala by profession a Chartered Accountant and is better known as one of the successful equity investors of India. Rakesh has been an active and keen participant in Indian capital investment markets since 1983, when Jhunjhunwala started investing small capital as a trader. In 2007, Forbes has rated Rakesh as the world’s#1062 and India’s 51st richest man having wealth of approx $1.1 billion. In his late 40s, Jhunjhunwala was described as the “pin-up boy” of the current bull run seen by Indian Stock Market.
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala credits his success to his young age resolution to enter into the stock market duing its nascent year, a move that paid off during the buoyant years of Indian economy. Rakesh was Independent Non-Executive Director of Praj Industries Ltd. till 2nd March, 2004. He also served as the Director of Nagarjuna Construction Company Ltd. and as Non Executive Director of Provogue (India) Ltd. and Geojit Financial Services Ltd.
